AN EXECUTIVE ORDER CREATING THE BARAGATAN SA PALAWAN 2008 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, Baragatan sa Palawan is a province-wide festival that aims to gather stakeholders in one event promoting tourism, highlighting investment and showcasing local culture;
WHEREAS, Baragatan sa Palawan, as a grand celebration of Palawan culture, seeks to increase awareness of Palawan, its destinations and attractions;
WHEREAS, the various events and activities for the celebration of “Baragatan” are conducted in partnership between the public and private sectors;
NOW THEREFORE, I, JOEL T. REYES, Provincial Governor of Palawan, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby create BARAGATAN SA PALAWAN 2008 Executive Committee;
The Baragatan sa Palawan 2008 Executive Committee shall be composed of the following personnel from the Provincial Government of Palawan, to wit;

The following constitute and identify the duties and responsibilities of the different working committees:
- Finance – The Finance committee will be chaired by Ms. Yolanda L. Caabay, Assistant Provincial General Services Officer and Head, RMU.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To allocate funds for the different events, activities and concerned committees of the Baragatan sa Palawan 2008;
- To require the financial liquidation of disbursed funds/expenses incurred
- To perform other related tasks
- Peace and Order and Security – The Peace and Order and Security Committee will be chaired by Col. Ramon Espina (Ret), Provincial Warden.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To determine the different locations that may require security personnel
- To assign peace officers to maintain peace and order within the venue of Baragatan sa Palawan 2008 events
- To provide security as may be needed to VIP’s and key officials on selected events
- To perform other related tasks
- Physical Arrangement – The Physical Arrangement Committee will be chaired by Ms. Ma. Teodora C. Prieto, Program Director, Culture and Arts Guild.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To design and construct physical requirements of the Baragatan sa Palawan 2008 including stage and booths, perimeter decoration, and decors within the Provincial Capitol Complex and the SPS Government Center.
- Maintenance and Utilities – The Maintenance and Utilities Committee will be chaired by Mr. Reynaldo delos Santos
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide and maintain the needed equipment that includes electrical, communication, lighting and sound facilities for every event/program
- To see to it that water and electrical supplies are adequate during the event
- To maintain the cleanliness of the different event venues
- To perform other related tasks
- Publicity, Promotions and Documentation – The Committee on Publicity, Promotions and Documentation will be chaired by Mr. Rolando E. Bonoan, Jr., Provincial Information Officer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To coordinate with the media and other committees on press releases/flashes related to Baragatan sa Palawan 2008
- To see to it that these are duly published accurately and promptly
- To document the whole Baragatan sa Palawan 2008
- To perform other related tasks
- Food – The Committee on Food will be chaired by Ms. Yolanda L. Caabay, Assistant Provincial General Services Officer and Head, RMU
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To prepare meals and snacks of officials, guests, members of the working committees of Baragatan sa Palawan 2008
- To take charge of the distribution of the same
- To perform other related tasks
- Committee on Events – The Committee on Events will be chaired Mr. Lino M. Conserman, Public Services Officer III, Office of the Governor
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To coordinate with different agencies and personages concerned, the different events and activities of Baragatan sa Palawan 2008 as identified and approved by the Executive Committee
- To enjoin the participation of various organizations and entities in the different events and activities in Baragatan
- To coordinate with the Committee on Program and Eucharistic Celebration for harmonize events during the Baragatan
- To perform other related tasks
- Program and Eucharistic Celebration – The Committee on Program and Eucharistic Celebration will be chaired by Ms. Norma R. Valencia, Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To prepare the Opening and Closing Programs for Baragatan sa Palawan 2008
- To coordinate activities with regards to spiritual activities regarding Baragatan sa Palawan 2008
- To perform other related tasks
- Secretariat - The Secretariat will be chaired by Ms. Maribel C. Buñi, Chief Tourism Operations Officer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To write minutes of meetings, communications and keep updated documents concerning the event
- To keep the guidelines, data about the events and activities for dissemination to interested participants
- To coordinate with various partner agencies concerned in the celebration of Baragatan sa Palawan 2008
- To identify possible sponsors for Baragatan sa Palawan 2008
The Executive Committee will determine the various events and activities of Baragatan sa Palawan 2008 as well as the different point persons for the same.
All Committee Chairmen may choose their respective Vice Chairmen and members from among the Provincial Government employees and such other agencies whose functions are related to their committees.
This order shall take effect immediately.
